Diana Dumitru, pastry chef and co-owner of Patisserie 42, is a graduate Johnson & Wales University and has a culinary degree in pastry arts. A former Ritz-Carlton Pastry Chef, she has trained with renowned pastry chefs and cake artists, including Ewald Notter, Norman Love, Kerry Vincent and Collette Peters, in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Detroit and Lyon, France.
Formerly, Dumitru was the owner of Cakes Plus for 14 years, where she created cakes for local and national celebrities such as LeBron James, Viktor Schreckengost and Gloria Estefan. She won pastry local competitions, as well as in South Carolina, Louisiana and the Dominican Republic. Her work has been featured in the Cleveland Magazine, Plain Dealer and Cleveland Jewish News, along with on WKYC and Fox 8.
Ultimate Brownies, a company established by Dumitru in 1999, was twice named the Best Brownies by Cleveland Magazine, continues to be available through Patisserie 42 and ships nationwide.
In 2012, Dumitru partnered with Bill Rini, owner of A Taste of Excellence Catering. Bill is a graduate of Florida International University where he earned a Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management and the Culinary Arts. Bills passion for food and hospitality has never let up! As one of Cleveland’s top caterers, Bill always dreamed of owning his own bakery. Bills dream came true when he teamed up with Dumitru.
